What this template's algorithm handles for you
What this template builds for you
Round coffee tables read softer than square — no sharp corner to bruise knees, no edges to surprise toddlers. The template supports 60–120 cm diameter, 3 structural options: 3-leg (Nordic), 4-leg (traditional), single-pedestal base (Asian / hotel-grade).
Single-pedestal is the hardest to build but reads most like high-end furniture — the base can be a cross-base, round-plate, or even carved stone. 3-leg is most material-efficient; 4-leg is sturdiest. Round tops need edge-gluing; the template auto-lays joint positions.
Round top-work is technique training you can't get on a square build — jigsaw curves, router-edge cleaning, and arc-edge chamfering. After one round coffee table, those round-shape skills carry directly to round stools, round dining tables. Material runs ~10–15% less than equivalent square tables (less edge waste).
Who this template suits

FAQ
Is a single-pedestal base hard?+
Advanced work. Base-to-top connection has to balance load and prevent tipping. The template gives base diameter recommendations (typically 0.5–0.6 of top diameter).
Is a 3-leg round coffee table stable?+
Yes. 3 legs always touch the floor — no rocking. But load capacity is lower than 4-leg.
How do I cut the round top?+
Edge-glue first (rectangular blank), then jigsaw rough-cut and trim-router to final radius. The template gives center and radius for marking.
What diameter?+
Sofa width × 0.5–0.6 is the standard ratio. 200 cm sofa → 100–120 cm round table. Sized so it doesn't dominate the rug.
Chamfer the round edge?+
Mandatory. 5 mm roundover on the round edge — toddlers can't bruise, hands rest naturally. Trim-router with an R5 bit along the edge — 5 minutes.
